to appreciate the happy moment.

So today, my mom have this english quiz for her work. And she doesn’t do that well with english. So I ask her some question to help her prepare for her test. I ask, “If you could have 3 wishes. What would it be?” And she answers, “I want good future for my kids.” “I want to be happy everyday.” And I cut her off there. Because at that very moment, I realize something. “Mom, you can’t be happy everyday.” And my mom insist, she said, “Why not?” “You can’t be happy everytime. You must have sad moment sometimes, so that way, you can appreciate your happy moment.” – “If you never have sad moment, how could you ever tell that you’re happy?” And I learned that maybe happiness is ephemeral after all. 10/9/14 A
